Mick Antoniw appointed Welsh Government's Counsel General

Pontypridd AM Mick Antoniw has been appointed the new Counsel General - the senior legal advisor to the Welsh Government.

The Labour politician replaces Theodore Huckle who held the role last term.

He was proposed earlier this month and his appointment was signed off by the assembly on Monday.

Mr Antoniw previously practised as a lawyer with a trade union law firm and his new role includes advising and appearing in legal proceedings.
