An employee of Anglesey council has been arrested in relation to money laundering offences.

North Wales Police said the woman, in her early 40s, was arrested at Ty Croes at 09:50 BST on Sunday.

She has been released on bail pending further inquiries.

A spokesman for the council confirmed the local authority was notified on Monday that a member of staff had been arrested.

"Our own internal processes have now been set in motion and as such we cannot comment further," he added.
