Body found in water of Menai Strait near Bangor

A body has been pulled from the water between the Menai and Britannia bridges in Gwynedd.

Police were called to a spot by Treborth, near Bangor, at 18:40 BST on Monday after a member of the public raised the alarm.

The body was recovered by the coastguard and the coroner has been informed.

The person has yet to be formally identified and investigations are continuing.
