Two robberies in neighbouring seaside towns spark investigation

An investigation has been launched after two robberies within 24 hours in neighbouring north Wales seaside towns.

North Wales Police appealed for witnesses after a robbery at the Spa store in Kinmel Bay, near Rhyl, at about 22:25 BST on Thursday.

On Friday night, a second raid took place at the Corbett bookmakers in nearby Towyn at about 19:20 BST.

Police made house-to-house inquiries in the area on Saturday.

North Wales Police said it received reports of a man wearing dark clothes, with his face covered, entering the Spa store on Foryd Road, Kinmel Bay, and demanding the till be opened on Thursday.

The offender, described as being about 5ft 7in tall, escaped with cash and left a shop assistant shaken.

Detectives urged anyone with information to get in contact via the non-emergency 101 phone line.
