Anglesey woman sexually abused boyfriend's daughter
A woman has been jailed for five years for sexually abusing her boyfriend's three-year-old daughter.
She was caught when her partner became suspicious and covertly recorded the attacks before informing the police.
The woman, from Anglesey, admitted child cruelty and was convicted of sexual assault after a trial.
Judge David Hale told Mold Crown Court there was no suggestion the assault was for sexual gratification but was done "just to hurt her."
The court heard the little girl would not talk to the woman when she visited and her father could not understand why.
He put his phone on record and left and when he returned, his daughter could be heard crying as she was assaulted.
The court heard her father could not believe it so the next night, he set his phone to record and the video captured her being sexually assaulted.
Defending, Meirion Lewis-Jones said it was bizarre and perplexing behaviour for which there was no satisfactory explanation.
The woman must also register as a sex offender for life.
