A walker who landed unconscious in a stream after falling on Tryfan in Snowdonia was "very lucky" to escape more serious injury, say rescuers.

The man, in his 30s, fell 50ft (15m) while descending a steep slope. He came round while still in the water.

Ogwen Valley Mountain Rescue team sent 18 members to find him at about 19:00 BST on Saturday.

A rescue helicopter from RAF Valley on Anglesey flew him to hospital in Bangor.

It is understood the man had possible head and back injuries.
