Sir Tom Jones will return to his homeland this summer to headline the Access All Eirias festival in Conwy.

The two-day festival, now in its third year, returns to the Eirias Stadium in Colwyn Bay on 25 July.

Other stars who have performed at the event in the past are Olly Murs, Pixie Lott and Welsh artists Rhydian Roberts and Sophie Evans.

"Believe it or not, this will be my first big outdoor show in north Wales," said Sir Tom.

'Exciting times'

The 73-year-old star, currently back on BBC TV as a judge on The Voice, says he is looking forward to returning.

"Coming back to Wales to perform is always a treat, and in the fantastic location of Eirias Stadium we're going to put on a hell of a show."

Access All Eirias was launched in 2012 as an Olympic Games celebration, with its organisers Orchard and Conwy Council winning several national awards for work on the event.

Iwan Davies, Conwy council's chief executive, said the festival was integral to the regeneration work being done in Colwyn Bay and it was pleasing to see it grow.

"We're really looking forward to welcoming Tom Jones to Colwyn Bay - this booking is a real coup for the region and an opportunity not to be missed," he said.

"It [Access All Eirias] offers north Wales residents the opportunity to watch top artists on their own doorstep, as well as providing substantial business opportunities for the region.

"These are exciting times for Colwyn Bay and it's a privilege for us all to be a part of it."
