Anglesey beach rescue: Two 'critical' and one injured

Two people are critically ill and a third person is also in hospital following a rescue on an Anglesey beach.

The alarm was raised at Rhosneigr at 14:50 BST on Friday when there were reports of three people in difficulty in the water.

Two casualties were flown to Ysbyty Gwynedd hospital in Bangor by a search and rescue helicopter from RAF Valley.

The third person was taken to the same hospital by ambulance.

It is understood that all three involved in the incident are men.

A spokesperson for the Welsh Ambulance Service said: "We sent a rapid response vehicle and an emergency ambulance to the scene, where the coastguard and RAF Valley were also present.

"Two casualties in a critical condition were flown to Ysbyty Gwynedd in Bangor, and a third casualty with leg injuries was taken by land ambulance to the same hospital."
