Three swimmers flown to hospital from Barmouth, Gwynedd

Three swimmers have been airlifted to hospital after getting into difficulties off the Gwynedd coast at Barmouth.

Two were rescued by the town's RNLI inshore rescue lifeboat and an onlooker after the alert was raised on Saturday.

The third swimmer was able to get ashore without any help.

A rescue helicopter from RAF Valley with a paramedic on board flew to the scene and took the two men and a woman to hospital in Bangor for a check-up.
