Tribute to Kody Dutton, 13, after Deganwy road crash

Tributes have been paid to a 13-year-old boy who has died following a road crash in Conwy.

The teenager, named locally as Kody Dutton, was in a Rover MGZ which crashed into a parked Mitsubishi Shogun in Vardre Avenue, Deganwy.

He was described as a rising star by his football club Conwy United FC.

Two local youths have been arrested and released on police bail pending further inquiries into the incident, which happened on Saturday at 00:27 GMT.

A statement on the Conwy United FC website said: "The club is saddened to hear of the tragic passing of one of its young stars.

"Chairman Geoff Cartwright and all of the staff are devastated with the news that the club has lost one of its rising stars in the untimely passing of 13-year-old Kody Dutton.

"Kody was an incredible young talent scoring 12 goals this season."

He had been treated at Alder Hey Hospital in Liverpool after being transferred from Ysbyty Glan Clwyd hospital in Bodelwyddan, Denbighshire.

The other occupants of the Rover received minor injuries.

North Wales Police said anyone with information should contact Sgt Ifan Jones on 101.
