Investigations are continuing into the death of a man whose body was found by walkers on Snowdon.

Peter Christopher Baylis, 44, from Kent, was discovered at about 1000 GMT on Saturday morning on the Llanberis path, between the Halfway House and Clogwyn station.

He was carried down the mountain by Llanberis Mountain Rescue team members.

The north west Wales coroner was informed and an inquest was opened and adjourned on Monday.

"One of the team members was flown up by air ambulance and then other team members walked up to carry the man down," said a Llanberis Mountain Rescue team spokesman.

"We got the call at about 12-ish, and he was at the top of the Allt Moses footpath.

"The team was stood down at about 4.30," he added.
