Wrexham Maelor Hospital

Some hospital wards remain closed after an outbreak of norovirus in Wrexham.

Four wards at Wrexham Maelor Hospital are closed to new admissions, with restricted admissions to the cardiac ward and one bay closed on the medical assessment unit.

Two wards at Mold Community Hospital are also closed.

Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board is asking the public to "protect patients" by not visiting hospitals if they have been unwell.

Assistant director of nursing, Tracey Cooper, said: "It is vital that that everyone follows the key rules to protect themselves, their families and, especially, our patients."

The health board said it would be opening the Onnen and Fleming wards at Wrexham Maelor Hospital on Tuesday, along with the Ceiriog ward at Chirk Community Hospital.
