Two care homes in Denbighshire are set to be switched out of council control, after the green light was given to the plans.

The council's leaders have agreed to put out a tender to run the Hafan Deg Day Care Centre in Rhyl and Dolwen Care Home in Denbigh.

It follows a review of four homes in the county earlier this year.

The move will see both buildings and services transferred to external groups to run the operations.

The council said talks are ongoing about the potential for an extension building at the Cysgod y Gaer home in Corwen.

Officials said discussions are also continuing with a housing association about extending accommodation services at Ruthin's Awelon Care Home.
