Ffynnongroyw bus driver cleared over bin man's death

A bus driver whose vehicle hit a Flintshire council bin man while driving children to school has been cleared of causing his death by careless driving.

Jonathon Brown, 37, of Holywell, denied being responsible for the death of Andrew Green, 39, in the village of Ffynnongroyw on 22 June 2015.

On Wednesday, a jury at Caernarfon Crown Court found him not guilty.

Judge Gaynor Lloyd said it had been a "very difficult and sensitive" case.

The judge thanked the jury and praised the "exemplary" way both families of those involved had conducted themselves during the trial.
