Wrexham Maelor Hospital

A norovirus outbreak has now hit eight wards in two hospitals in Wrexham county.

More people have been admitted with diarrhoea and vomiting and there are currently 34 patients with symptoms.

Six wards at Wrexham Maelor and one at Chirk Hospital have stopped new admissions and a further one in Wrexham has restrictions in place.

The outbreak was first reported on Monday, with moves taken to stop the norovirus spreading.

It is the second time this year hospitals in Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board's area have been affected after an outbreak in January.
