Two in hospital after A55 crash closes road near Caerwys

Two people have been taken to hospital following a crash on the A55 in Flintshire.

The collision involving a tractor and trailer and a car on the westbound carriageway near Caerwys has led to hold-ups.

The carriageway was closed for a time between junctions 29 and 30 for emergency crews to deal with the scene.

The casualties, an elderly man and woman, have been taken to Glan Clwyd Hospital in Bodelwyddan, Denbighshire.

North Wales Police said heavy traffic was still affecting the area three hours after the collision at 13:30 GMT on Tuesday.
