A £4.4m investment has given a Denbighshire leisure complex a facelift and created 30 new jobs.

The Nova Centre in Prestatyn reopened on Monday after work to build a 60-station fitness suite and three-storey soft play structure.

Other developments include a new cafe, restaurant and two retail units at the site that closed in February 2014.

Denbighshire council described it as a "flagship project" and one of its biggest investments in the area.

The local authority redeveloped the site alongside Alliance Leisure, with a 25 metre swimming pool and splash pool retained.

Council leader Hugh Evans added that the council had recognised the "major potential" of The Nova Centre and described it as "a facility and attraction" for local people.
