Ex-vicar given community order over child sex images
A former north Wales vicar who distributed child sex images has been handed a three-year community order.
Jason Kennett-Orpwood, 60, of Wrexham, had admitted 11 charges of distribution, making and possessing the illegal images.
At Mold Crown Court, he was also told he must register as a sex offender for five years, and a five year sexual harm prevention order was made.
Recorder Gaynor Lloyd said his acts were "particularly shaming".
The court heard Kennett-Orpwood - who was vicar of Bistre at Buckley, Flintshire, until his resignation in 1999 - had been cautioned for the same offence in 2000.
Under the community order, he must attend an internet sex offender programme.
