The Wales and Sheffield United striker Ched Evans has been jailed for five years after being found guilty of rape.

In a dramatic end to a week-long trial at Caernarfon Crown Court, his co-defendant, the Port Vale player Clayton Macdonald, was cleared of the same charge after an incident at a hotel in Denbighshire in May 2011.
