Llandrindod Wells primary school put in special measures
A Powys primary school has been put in special measures after a critical report by the education watchdog.
Estyn said Llandrindod Wells CP School had unsatisfactory leadership, teaching and prospects for improvement.
However, its learning environment, care, support and guidance and partnership working was ranked as good.
Head teacher Ashley Clare said staff agreed there were "improvements to be made and are committed to drive through the recommendations".
This move follows a four-day inspection in October and means the school has to draw up an action plan to address the issues raised.
Estyn will monitor the school until it deems it fit to be taken out of special measures.
Powys council's cabinet member for education, Arwel Jones, said: "We'll be working closely with the school and the governing body to secure improvements at the school."
