Search for woman in River Teifi, Cardigan suspended
Rescue teams searching for a woman who is believed to have gone into the River Teifi in Cardigan have suspended their search for another night.
A major operation was launched after emergency services were called to Cardigan Bridge in the Ceredigion town at about 13:15 GMT on Sunday.
The coastguard said it suspended its search of the river at about 15:30 on Monday pending further information.
Police and specialist firefighters will resume their operation on Tuesday.
The teams, including RNLI lifeboats, have been searching the waters between Cardigan Bridge and the mouth of the estuary.
Ch Insp Peter Roderick, of Dyfed-Powys Police, said an investigation was under way to verify the identity of the woman who went into the water.
