Parents have been warned to make sure their child's car seat is fitted correctly after the majority of those tested in Powys failed.

Road safety officers at Powys council said just nine out of the 65 they checked in Brecon, Llandrindod Wells, Newtown and Welshpool were fitted properly.

They found 48 needed either minor or major adjustments while another eight were not fit for use.

The council said advice was available.

Council senior road safety officer Sarah Morris said: "With so many makes and models of seats available, it can be confusing for parents and carers to know if the seat is correct for the child, the car and also to ensure that it is fitted correctly."
