Hillside grass fire at Pen Dinas near Aberystwyth

A big grass fire on a hillside in Ceredigion prompted a large number of emergency calls to the Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service.

Residents described dramatic scenes at Pen Dinas near Aberystwyth, with flames and plumes of smoke seen over the area.

Three fire engines were sent to the scene at 22:00 BST. The blaze affected an area of five hectares (12 acres).

Firefighters are continuing to monitor the area on Sunday as the blaze is being allowed to burn itself out.
