Three hurt in A470 crash near Newtown, Powys
Three people have been taken to hospital following a two-car crash during Tuesday morning's rush hour which closed the A470 in Powys.
One person was airlifted and the others were taken by ambulance from the scene, half a mile outside of Newtown.
Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service said crews used hydraulic cutting equipment.
The incident happened shortly before 08:00 GMT and the road has now been reopened.
Dyfed-Powys Police said the driver of one of the cars - a Vauxhall Astra - was flown to hospital in Stoke-on-Trent.
The driver of the other car - a Passat - was taken to Bronglais Hospital in Aberystwyth.
Police are appealing for witnesses.
