Lorry driver in Llanerfyl river crash drama
A man suffered minor injuries after his lorry ended up in a river in a village in Powys.
The incident involving an unladen flatbed truck happened in Llanerfyl, near Welshpool, shortly before 1230 GMT.
Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service saved the driver and he was treated at the scene by paramedics.
The service said 28 firefighters went to the scene, and were trying to contain fuel leaking from the vehicle.
Three fire engines from Llanfair Caereinion, Llanfyllin and Llanidloes, and a boat from Llanidloes, were called to the emergency.
Fire crews rescued the truck driver, but he was trapped for a period. A fire service spokesman said it was understood the man was not seriously injured.
