A scheme to steer low-risk female offenders away from a life of crime has been launched in north Wales.

Pathfinders is a pilot aimed at women whose crimes include public order offences, criminal damage and drunk and disorderly.

It is being funded through the Home Office and will operate in Conwy, Denbighshire and Flintshire.

The scheme will look at underlying causes of crime- such as drug addiction- to prevent re-offending.
