Industrial action by Tata Steel workers has been temporarily suspended while a new offer on pensions is considered.

Union members started an overtime ban and work-to-rule campaign on Monday ahead of a planned 24-hour strike on 22 June in protest at proposals to close their final salary pension scheme.

But unions said negotiators had secured a new offer which could see the scheme remain open.

Consultation on the new plans will begin on Friday.

The firm has four sites across Wales in Port Talbot, Llanwern in Newport, Shotton in Flintshire and Trostre, Carmarthenshire.
