Bank holiday traffic and rail problems around Wales

Bank holiday travellers across Wales faced delays on the roads and railway.

Hold-ups on the M4 at Swansea, Briton Ferry and Newport eased by the afternoon as South Wales Police warned motorists to expect delays at the reopened Barry Island Pleasure Park after gridlock on Sunday.

Arriva Trains Wales said signalling issues across the valleys caused delays and cancellations to services.

Monday was also Wales' warmest day of 2015 with temperatures reaching 20C.

Earlier, there were also reports of slow traffic on the A487 at Caernarfon, Gwynedd, and Traffic Wales said there had been 45-minute delays on Wrexham bypass near the Posthouse roundabout at Chester due to road works.
