Man in hospital after River Taff rescue in Cardiff

A man has been taken to hospital after being pulled from a river in Cardiff following a major rescue alert.

The fire service sent two boats to the callout near Penarth Road bridge at 20:20 GMT. Police and paramedics also attended the scene.

The man's condition is not known.

He was rescued from the River Taff, although initial reports suggested it was the nearby River Ely.
