Rail services in south Wales have been disrupted after a person was struck and killed by a train near Cardiff.

Emergency services were called to an incident near a level crossing at St George's-super-Ely at 10:45 BST on Thursday.

British Transport Police said there were no suspicious circumstances.

Following delays to trains on the main line between Cardiff and Bridgend, services have returned to normal, Arriva said.

A British Transport Police spokesman said the incident was not being treated as suspicious and a file would be prepared for the coroner.
