£7.8m bid to boost independence of elderly

Millions of pounds are being invested to help older people stay independent and remain in their own homes.

The £7.8m support will be used in Swansea, Neath Port Talbot and Bridgend.

The Welsh government said the funding would ease pressure on the NHS by preventing unnecessary hospital and residential care admissions.

The aim is to provide the same level of care wherever people live in those areas to avoid a "postcode lottery".
