A lane remains closed on a section of the A55 north Wales expressway that was hit by localised flooding following heavy rain.

The westbound carriageway between Tal-y-Bont and and Abergwyngregyn was closed after downpours on Friday afternoon.

Traffic Wales said one lane had reopened by lunchtime on Saturday but traffic was still queuing from the Tal-y-Bont junction to junction 14.

Emergency repairs are under way.

The torrential rain on Friday also affected the expressway at other locations.

Floods affected the road between Junction 12 Roman Road in Gwynedd and Junction 18 Conwy and Llandudno Junction.
