King of the Valleys race: Fire crews free man trapped in car

Firefighters have freed a man trapped in a rally car after it was involved in a crash at an event in Neath Port Talbot.

The incident happened at Walters Arena, near Glynneath, which is hosting the annual King of the Valleys off-road 4x4 endurance race until Sunday.

Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service said the crash happened shortly before 10:45 BST on Saturday.

The condition of the casualty is not known.

According to the event's website, the King of the Valleys is a 4x4 off-road endurance event pitting man and machine against around 80 miles (about 130km) of the most diverse terrain imaginable.

Teams from the UK, mainland Europe and the United States are understood to be taking part.
