The family of a 28-year-old mother who died after her car crashed at a Bridgend roundabout have described her loss as devastating.

Heather Hughes, from Brackla, Bridgend, was at the wheel of a silver Audi A4 estate which crashed on the A473 at Coychurch on Saturday 25 May.

No other vehicles were involved and Ms Hughes died later in hospital.

Her family said: "Heather above all lived for her children. She loved being a mum and all that came with it."

Police have appealed for witnesses to the crash or anyone who might have seen the car being driven in the Brynna or Bridgend area beforehand.

Officers say her car had been in collision with "roadside furniture".

Ms Hughes was taken to the University of Wales Hospital in Cardiff after the crash, which happened at about 03:10 BST.

In a statement issued via South Wales Police, her family added: "She was also an amazing daughter, sister, aunty and partner.

"She had recently started a new job after years of dedicating her life to her children and she had made so many friends throughout her life.

"Her loss will be devastating to everyone who knew her - our lives will never be the same without her."
