Carwyn Jones apology for 1990 death of Robbie Powell welcomed by family

Help

Robbie Powell was "let down badly" by a system that should have protected him, the First Minister Carwyn Jones has said.

He has offered a public apology to the 10-year-old's family, from Ystradgynlais, for failings which led to the death of their son more then 20 years' ago.

Robbie died in 1990 of Addison's Disease. A test that could have diagnosed the condition was not carried out.

Rhodri Lewis reports.
