In Pictures: Swansea Olympic 'Games' glass art display
The National Waterfront Museum in Swansea is hosting an exhibition of glass art to celebrate the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games
Entitled Games, the exhibition is a collaboration between the museum, Swansea School of Glass at Swansea Metropolitan University and the British Society of Master Glass Painters
After receiving more than 60 entries, 37 panels were chosen to be displayed in the exhibition
The selected panels were chosen by a team of four judges from the Swansea School of Glass, the National Museum of Wales, the British Society of Master Glass Painters and the Mission Gallery in Swansea
The exhibition coincides with both the Olympic and Paralympic Games, which officially begin on Friday, 27 July and Wednesday, 29 August respectively
Wales will host the first event of the London 2012 Olympics, with women's football matches kicking off at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff on 25 July, two days before the opening ceremony in London
The exhibition will be officially opened during a private viewing by Gwyn L Williams, the Creative Programmer for Wales for London 2012, on Saturday
It will be open to the public, free of charge, from Sunday, 8 July until Sunday, 23 September
In addition, the exhibition will be one of only six venues to host the Glass Games 2012 glass baton
The project, run by the Contemporary Glass Society, will see a special glass baton on display alongside the Games exhibition until Tuesday 17 July
