London 2012: Horse and rider to carry Olympic torch

The Olympic torch is to be carried through Ceredigion on horseback on Sunday.

Horse breeder Eric Davies will hold the torch aboard his Welsh cob, Maesmynach Angerdd, as the torch travels through the town of Aberaeron.

The 12-year-old cob has taken part in many events and won a number of performance medals.

Mr Davies, president of the Welsh Pony and Cob Society, described the prospect of carrying the Olympic flame as a great personal honour and an honour for the Welsh cob's roots in in the area.
