UK journalists held in Libya after Welsh mistaken for Hebrew

Help

A Welsh journalist who was detained in Libya says his captors thought he was an Israeli spy because they confused the Welsh language with Hebrew.

Gareth Montgomery-Johnson is back home in Nantgaredig, near Carmarthen.

He was carrying medical supplies with Welsh words on them when he was arrested in Tripoli last month.

Kate Morgan reports.
