Hain calls for mine rescue funds review after Gleision

Help

Shadow Welsh Secretary Peter Hain is calling on the UK government to review funding of the mines rescue service.

He said squabbles over money threatened to jeopardise the rescue operation during the Gleision colliery disaster?

He also believes central government should contribute towards the cost of the police investigation, rather than allowing the south Wales force to foot the bill alone.

Nick Palit reports.
