Localised flood warnings issued for south Wales

Environment Agency Wales has warned of possible localised flooding in south Wales on Sunday.

The agency said the Met Office had forecast heavy showers which "may lead to an increased risk of surface water flooding of roads and urban areas".

Drivers are warned of possible hazardous conditions.

River flooding is not expected due to low river levels, the agency said. It advised residents to monitor local weather and travel reports.

Emergency services across north-east England have received hundreds of calls after heavy rain caused localised flooding.

Darlington, Durham, Consett and parts of Northumberland were the worst-hit areas, with some homes flooded.
