End of line for Wrexham-London service

It has been running for the past three years direct from Wrexham to London, but it has now been announced that the Wrexham and Shropshire rail service is closing.

The last train to London Marylebone station will depart on Friday, leaving more than 50 staff out of work.

Wrexham and Shropshire Railways said it had not managed to increase passenger numbers in the economic downturn and had lost £13m.

Kate Scott Williams reports.
