Pedestrian, 75, killed in car crash in Aberdare

A 75-year-old pedestrian has died after a collision with a car in the Cynon Valley.

The incident took place at 1810 GMT on Monday on the A4059 Aberaman bypass, north of the Asda roundabout, in Aberdare.

The pedestrian was involved in a collision with a blue Volkswagen Polo and later died of his injuries in hospital.

The driver, a 25-year-old female from Aberaman, was not injured.

Police have asked for anyone who witnessed the collision or who saw the pedestrian or the vehicle involved beforehand to contact the roads policing unit on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
