Girl, nine, injured in collision in Rhyl


A nine-year-old girl has been seriously injured after being hit by a car in Rhyl, Denbighshire.

The incident happened at just after 1700 GMT on Tuesday at St Asaph Avenue in the town, involving a blue Ford Galaxy car.

The girl, who was a pedestrian, was taken to Glan Clwyd Hospital but later transferred to Alder Hey Children's Hospital in Liverpool.

Police are appealing for any witnesses to the incident to come forward.

Officers say the young girl sustained serious head injuries.
