The family of a woman who fell to her death from a hotel balcony in Benidorm have paid tribute to her.

Donna Sharp, 48, from Barry in the Vale of Gamorgan, died on Sunday, 14 November, at a hotel in the Spanish resort.

Her 25-year-old daughter Angel told BBC Radio Wales that her mother's death was a "tragic accident".

She said: "She was unique and I loved her to pieces."

Ms Sharp's daughter said: "I got a phone call in the early hours of Sunday and it just blew me away.

"Nothing can prepare you for that phone call, nothing. I don't think I'll ever get over it, never.

"We're in a total state of shock."

Angel, also from Barry, added: "It was just a tragic accident and I can't believe she's not coming back."

Donna's mother, Patricia Sharp, said: "She just wasn't my daughter, she was my best friend too and she was with me all the time.

"She was just a wonderful girl. Everybody loved Donna, everybody."
