Roman suit of armour discovered at Caerleon dig

Help

Archaeologists excavating at Caerleon in Newport have discovered the remains of a suit of armour - one of only a handful ever discovered in Britain.

Two thousand years ago the town was known as Isca and was home to a roman fortress housing more than 5,000 solders.
