Two men have been arrested following an alleged assault in Perth.

Police were called to Grampian Court at about 02:00 and sealed off nearby Crieff Road for several hours after the incident.

A man, 37, was taken to hospital with injuries that are not said to be life-threatening.

A 36-year-old woman who was also in the property is assisting officers with the investigation. Police said they may be in the area for "some time".

A Police Scotland Spokesman said: "We can confirm that following an incident in Grampian Court, Perth, two men aged 28 and 38 have been arrested.

"Inquiries into the incident are continuing and there may be a police presence in the area for some time to allow them to be completed.

"We would like to thank the local residents along with those affected by the closure of Crieff Road for their patience and co-operation while the incident was safely resolved."
