Police hunt antique coin raiders

Police are hunting thieves who stole several thousands of pounds worth of jewellery, money and antique coins from a house in Denny, near Falkirk.

The raiders forced entry to the home in Duke Street between 19:15 and 23:35 on Monday.

Officers said they were continuing to establish the full inventory of items.

Det Insp Jim Thomson said the homeowner was "absolutely devastated" at the theft of the "extremely valuable" foreign coins.

He said: "It is likely those responsible will look to sell these coins on and I would ask specialist dealers and second-hand retailers to be vigilant for anyone offering such items in the near future."
