A 37-year-old man has appeared in court accused of murdering a man and woman in a Dundee tenement block.

Krzysztof Gadecki is alleged to have killed Ronnie Kidd, 40, and Holly Alexander, 37, in Mr Kidd's flat in the city's west end.

He is accused of repeatedly striking them both on the body with a knife or similar instrument.

The offence is alleged to have taken place in the city's Rosefield Street between 8 December and 11 December.

He made no plea or declaration during an appearance in private at Dundee Sheriff Court before Sheriff Simon Collins QC.

Mr Gadecki, who is a Polish national, was remanded in custody and the case was continued for further examination.
