Woman dies following bus collision

A 49-year-old woman has died after being hit by a bus on a road in Dundee.

The pedestrian sustained a serious head injury in the incident in Johnston Avenue, near the junction with Strathmore Avenue, at about 11:10 on Thursday.

She was taken to the city's Ninewells Hospital but later died of her injuries.

The road was closed for several hours on Thursday for a police investigation to be carried out.
