'Ecstasy' teenager remains seriously ill

A 15-year-old boy remains in a serious but stable condition in hospital a week after taking what is believed to be a type of Ecstasy tablet.

The boy was one of four young people who received treatment after an incident in Perth on 28 October.

A 17-year-old boy appeared at Perth Sheriff Court on Monday charged with drugs offences following the incident.

Another Perth boy who became unwell after taking an unknown substance on Sunday has been released from hospital.

Police said that the incidents were not connected.

Chf Supt Paul Anderson said: "The dangers of taking drugs are real and clear for all to see.

"Quite simply, you can never be sure of what you are taking or how your body will react.

"It only takes one bad reaction to put your life in serious danger and it really is not worth the risk."
